Installation
Before you install
Confirm you will present a full desktop screen share in EGKits.
Prefer the MSI for per-machine install (Start Menu, egkits-overlay://, logon autostart).
Install
Download the official MSI for your architecture (x64 recommended).
Run the installer and accept the installation terms, or msiexec /i EGKitsScreenOverlay-{version}-win-x64.msi /qn /norestart.
The overlay registers egkits-overlay:// and starts at every user logon.
After install
Start a screen-share session from EGKits; the browser launches the companion via egkits-overlay:// when needed.
The tray companion paints overlay graphics on the shared monitor.
Configuration
No tenant credentials are stored in the overlay process — the browser already authenticates.
Ensure localhost WebSocket port access is not blocked by local firewall software.
Troubleshooting
If the overlay does not appear, confirm you shared an entire screen (not a single window).
Reinstall the MSI if the egkits-overlay:// protocol handler was unregistered.
Download only from this official EGKits Downloads page.
Upgrade
Download the newer MSI and run it. The previous version is replaced in place.
A running overlay process is stopped so files can be replaced, then autostart brings it back at logon (or launch from the Start Menu).
Uninstallation
Open Windows Settings → Apps and uninstall EGKits Screen Overlay, or msiexec /x the MSI /qn /norestart.
This removes the Start Menu shortcut, logon autostart, and the egkits-overlay:// protocol handler.
