Setup

Installation

Before you install

  1. Confirm you will present a full desktop screen share in EGKits.

  2. Prefer the MSI for per-machine install; EXE is the self-contained companion binary.

Install

  1. Download the official MSI (or EXE) from this page.

  2. Install the MSI for Start Menu / protocol registration, or run the self-contained EXE.

After install

  1. Start a screen-share session from EGKits; the browser launches the companion via egkits-overlay:// when needed.

  2. The tray companion paints overlay graphics on the shared monitor.

Configuration

  1. No tenant credentials are stored in the overlay process — the browser already authenticates.

  2. Ensure localhost WebSocket port access is not blocked by local firewall software.

Troubleshooting

  1. If the overlay does not appear, confirm you shared an entire screen (not a single window).

  2. Reinstall the MSI if the egkits-overlay:// protocol handler was unregistered.

  3. Download only from this official EGKits Downloads page.
